Right. The
drive magnets and coils to be installed are from a Smartdrive washing machine motor. The magnets are on a backing of 6 layers of continuously wound sheet steel, the same width as the magnet array, that is, about 30mm. The magnets in my machine will be rotated 90 degrees, making the array 10mm wide.To maintain the characteristics of the original motor as closely as possible I have cut the original steel into 6 strips 10mm wide, and these will be riveted in place.
